    Research Summary

The general interest of our lab focuses on the process of palmitoylation, a post-translational lipid modification that plays an important role in stability and trafficking of several important proteins such as Ras, as well as other proteins responsible for a variety of human diseases. My research combines structural bioinformatics and molecular biology in order to understand the DHHC palmitoyltransferase family. In particular, I aim to elucidate the structural mechanisms and identify novel functional regions in this family of proteins.
